A-300

A-300 Product Description

A-300 Cement Modifier Bonder is a proprietary bonding agent and admixture. Concrete Bonder Admix can provide superior bonding strength between the substrate and Americrete cements. It can also be added in small amounts to Americrete cements to increase PSI and speed up cure times.

A-400

A-400 Product Description

A-400 Cement Modifier Bonder Concentrate is a proprietary bonding agent and admixture. The product is a concentrate and thus needs 1-3 gallons of water to be added before intended use. Concrete Bonder Admix Concentrate can provide superior bonding strength between the substrate and Americrete cements. It can also be added in small amounts to Americrete cements to increase PSI and speed up cure times.

Characteristics

  • Environmentally safe and waterborne proprietary copolymer.
  • Superior adhesion and co-adhesive bonding strength.
  • Reduces moisture vapor emission through slabs.
  • Concrete Bonder Admix is a multi-purpose product that will create a superior bond between sound substrates and cements based overlayments.

Coverage Rate

  • When premixed with 2-3 gallons of water, A-400 will achieve approximately 300 – 350 square feet per gallon of primer.
  • To use as an admix, mix 2 parts water to 1 part A-400 and add up to 1 quart of mixture for every 50 lbs of Americrete cement.

Uses and General Information

Can be used over A-700 Stamp when using water-based stain; concrete patching and repair, spalled/deteriorated conditions, horizontal concrete/asphalt renovation, pedestrian and traffic surfaces, renovation of gypsum underlayments, reduction of moisture vapor emissions, recreational surfaces (repair and smoothing), highways, bridges, sidewalks, curbs, waterproofing, parking structures, warehouses, pool decks, driveways, loading docks, ramps and masonry walls.

Directions

  1. If adding color: Stir, do not shake, the product to ensure that the color is mixed homogeneously before application.
  2. Can be applied by brush, roller, or Hudson sprayer.
  3. If using a Hudson sprayer, use a soft bristle brush push broom to help penetration and uniformity.

Caution: Do not apply in direct sun on a hot day. Surface temperature should not exceed 100oF. Do not apply in cold or threatening weather such as heavy dew, fog, mist or rain is forecasted within 24 hours. Do not apply if the surface temperature is below 55oF.

A-1505

A-1505 Product Description

A-1505 Efflorescence Blocker is an extremely versatile 10% solids, clear sealer, and coating. It is formulated for use over concrete with high levels of alkalinity. It is a highly versatile emulsion polymer, which provides many of the chemical resistant performance attributes of more expensive 2K waterborne epoxy and polyurethane dispersions.

The excellent water, alkali, and efflorescence resistance of this product, in combination with its exterior durability and its ability to adhere to a variety of substrates, allow it to be used in many applications.

Preparation

  1. Sandblasting is the preferred method of removal of existing efflorescence or coated surface.
  2. If sandblasting is not feasible, remove all existing efflorescence by sanding surface and scrubbing surface with a blend of 10 parts water to 1 part muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid, HC1). Repeat as necessary.
  3. Completely neutralize the surface by scrubbing with liquid TSP or baking soda (rate: 1 lb baking soda to 1 gal of water) and rinsing 3-4 times with water.
  4. Allow surface to dry completely before application of Americrete A-1505.

Note: The efflorescence will sometimes reappear due to water being reintroduced. In this case, repeat cleaning steps as necessary.

Application

  • Americrete A-1505 can be applied using a paint brush, 1⁄4” nap roller, or spray gun.
  • Coverage Rates: Apply 2 thin coats at a rate of 250 to 400 square feet per gallon depending porosity of the surface and application procedure used.
  • Cure Time: Product dries in 20 minutes to 2 hours depending on temperature.
  • Caution: Always wear protective clothing, eye protection, and filtered masks when mixing or using the product. Wash hands after using products. Keep away from children.

Key Benefits include:

  • Fast drying/early block resistance
  • Exterior durability
  • Water resistance (non-whitening)
  • Efflorescence/alkali resistance
  • Universal primer properties
  • Excellent direct and indirect impact resistance

Storage

  • Americrete has determined that the shelf life of Americrete A-1505 is in excess of six months from the date of shipment receipt when the product is stored between temperatures of 41 °F to 77 °F in its original packaging.
  • Americrete A-1505 must be protected from freezing in its original form of supply.

Safety

  • Before using this or any other Americrete product, please consult the SDS.
